Innovative activities of open-air museums

The All-Russian Conference "Innovative activities of open air-museums" will take place from 7 to 9 June 2019 at The Historical and Ethnographical Museum-Reserve “Shushenskoe”, Krasnoyarsk region, Russian Federation.

In the framework of the conference, participants will discuss the successful practices of open-air museums in the field of protecting the historical environment, interpretation and representation of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage in collaboration with local community, and building up an attractive image of the territory. Conference participants will explore new forms of effective partnership with other open-air museums, cultural organizations, and different types of museums.

The conference aims to go beyond the traditional models of museum activities that were elaborated more than a hundred years ago, to determine the forms and principles of effective cooperation of open-air museums with each other and with other types of museums.

The event is organized by The Historical and Ethnographical Museum-Reserve “Shushenskoe” and ICOM Russia with the support of The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation.
