Since the beginning of 2020, within the framework of the Migrations: Revealing the Personal project, the project team, together with partners and like-minded people, has been preparing for publication a collection of museum practices and recommendations for working on migration, mobility and diversity.
Today, on the International Migrant Day, which has been celebrated annually around the world since 2000, we are pleased to announce the publication of the Collection in Russian and English.
You can read the collection at the link:
The publication of the collection was made possible by the collaboration of museum specialists and researchers in the field of migration and diversity issues. The collection is intended not only to acquaint museum specialists and all interested individuals with these problems and successful cases for creating exhibition and educational programs, but also to promote the development of intercultural dialogue.
In addition to theoretical articles, interviews and a detailed description of museum practices, the collection contains a checklist for professional reflection, which identifies important issues in the development and implementation of projects on migration, mobility and diversity, which focus on personal stories.
We hope that this publication will become a source of inspiration for you to implement new projects, and will contribute to the development of partnerships in the field of working with people with migration experience.
We thank all those who were involved in the creation of the collection: museum specialists, researchers, authors, editors, translators, designers, consultants and volunteers.
The publication was prepared within the framework of the Migration: Revealing the Personal project, which is implemented by the Russian Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM of Russia) using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation provided by the Presidential Grants Foundation.
